Changes to GP-requested Phlebotomy at Salisbury Hospital 

To improve patient experience and reduce waiting times within the Pathology Department, Salisbury District Hospital are changing how GP-request blood tests are provided. 

From Monday 10th August, patients attending Salisbury Hospital for GP-requested blood tests will no longer be able to use the walk-in service. Patients choosing to have their blood test at Salisbury Hospital will need to book an appointment in advance. 

Patients now have the option to book their blood tests at one of the following locations:

• Three Chequers Medical Practice
• Community Diagnostic Centre - Located in the Central Health Clinic, Avon Approach, Salisbury, SP1 3SL
• Salisbury Hospital Pathology Department

If patients want to have their blood test at one of our surgeries, they will continue to book an appointment by contacting the surgery in person, via telephone or through a patient invitation link.

If patients want to have their GP-requested blood tests done at the Community Diagnostic Centre or Salisbury Hospital Pathology Department, they will need to access the booking system by clicking on the button below or scanning the QR code in the poster on the right-hand side of this article.

Patients will still need to collect a blood form from the surgery in order to have their blood tests done at Salisbury Hospital or the Community Diagnostic Centre.

Patients with hospital-requested and blood test passports can continue to use the walk-in service.
