Accessing your COVID-19 vaccination status - Now Live

The Government has announced that proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will be shown via the NHS app. They recommend you register with the app before booking international travel.

You can access your vaccination status free of charge via the app from Monday 17 May, through mobile devices such as your smartphone or tablet. It is available to download on IOS or Android.

If you do not have access to a smartphone and know that the country you are travelling to requires COVID-19 vaccination status, you can call the NHS helpline on 119 and ask for a letter to be posted to you. This must be at least 5 days after you’ve completed your course of the vaccine, the letter may take up to 5 days to reach you.

Please do not contact your GP surgery as GPs cannot provide letters showing your COVID-19 vaccination status.

For travel abroad

You can obtain your NHS COVID Pass after receiving either:

  • 2 doses of the Moderna, AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccine
  • one dose of the Janssen vaccine

You must have been vaccinated in England. Any vaccinations given abroad will not show on the NHS APP. Call 119 for advice.
